Congrats for crusading on insomnia of BBMP.The current appaling state of Bengaluru is under leadership of an able IAS officer shri Subramanya. But it is disturbing why he has not come out openly with his apologies first to Abhishek's family and then with firm time bound action plan for covering the small and medium drains.Even large storm water drains needs to be covered or deep silted and used for navigation of Gondolas as it is happening in Venice. But what is happening is it is used and abused by letting in sewage into it.The least he should do is to entrust the desilting and covering of drains job to reputed engineers and contractors like L & T instead of parcelling into small streatches and given to small time contractors which breeds corrupt practices and job ten percent done against cent percent claims! If this IAS Officer cannot do it,it is difficult to imagine what would happen when BBMP gets elected members-185 or 200 Corporaters - assuming power and each trying to recoup what one has spent on elections!!!GOD SAVE BENGALURU.Till then NEWS 9 has to repeatedly bash BBMP to care for its citizens JAAGO RE JAAGO telecast.

Chief Executive Officer
News 9, Bangalore

I salute you for your intent and the remarkable breakthrough that your channel has made. According to me you are the first channel to be truly upholding democracy in India at this crucial period in our history. To support my statement and substantiate its validity I quote in retrospect, from 300BC - Aristotle said "The most perfect political community is one in which the middle class is in control, and outnumbers both of the other classes" Aristotle also came to the conclusion that oligarchies , which are governments that are ruled by a few, are deviant regimes because they govern for the good of the rulers, and not for the good of the whole. For a more contemporary take on this subject we need to reflect on what the Nobel Prize-winning economist-historian Douglas North points out -The tragic phenomenon of how economies limit opportunities for citizens, basically he categorizes them into : Closed access societies; Limited access societies; and finally the healthiest, much needed - Open access societies. In anything we attempt relevance is of paramount importance, and I feel that News 9 is leading the vanguard that I hope other channels will have the moral and ethical courage to emulate and collaborate with News9.

I am a researcher who's lifetimes work -30 years of research- has produced a Genus Discipline called "Applied Holism"; it allows its practitioners to think and write as I have above. I would like to come down to your office and present you with my research white-paper:A handle on the "crisis". It is something that today's leadership the world over need. I have so far not exposed my research to the world, as I have been waiting for a worthy group of people to quarterback. Given the intellect and character you have displayed, Applied Holism will be worth looking into, as it can exponentially augment the genuine impact you channel is having on society. I feel I have found a worthy group in News 9 and if you think it fit to meet me please let me know how we can take things forward. Keep up the remarkable yeoman service that you have set out on! You can count on me and my research to back you at anytime. Warm regards.

Please come and see the horrible road condition of the road leading to National Centre for Excellence School,in 5th Main,Mallesh Palya.Children have to struggle everyday to reach school. The water has accumulated in the drains and has become breeding ground for mosquitoes.Very often little children fell in these open drain and get seriously hurt. Some time fatal accident may also happen. The Authorities are requested to lay road and should ensure that water flows out from the drains before it is too late and some innocent children may loose their life.Open drains on the both sides of the road should be covered with slabs immeadiatelly. It is very surprising that small nearby inner roads which lead to some VIP(?) apartments are layed but this very important road which is essential for young school students has been left in this very bad shape unattended. This gives an impression of some corruption involved !Please look in to it at the earliest and ask your officers to do the needful at the earliest before some untoward accident takes place.Sir,as you can yourself understand, this matter is very critical and safety of the life of small school going children are involved. This requires your URGENT personal attention, so that action is taken at the earliest.

Dear friends at News 9
You guys make me proud . Your investigative reporting and follow up action for many very important issues in Bengaluru, are excellent and with a News channel like yours, I see hope for many of us Bengalureans, to see a better, safer Bengaluru.
Keep up the good work.
I am disappointed about the hype your reporters have shown on the issue of rises in prices of Petrol and Diesel. Your coverage urged the motorists to "hurry up and fill your tanks
This was very immature and very foolish and not expected from an enlightened channel like yours.
Did you realize that a full tank of about 30 litres of petrol would have meant only a meagre one time saving of Rs.120/- ????? Cannot an owner of a car afford this? Does he have to waste precious time sitting in his car, queuing up for this meagre one time saving ?
A little thought and some editorial advice is needed before such hype is aired, dont you think ?
I respect your channel and this is only some well meant advice.

My name is V.Prathima I am Writing on Behalf of the residents of 4th Main 8th Cross Annasandra Palya Extension .H.A.L post Bangalore .We are located about a kilometer & a half from the old airport in the HAL area. This Email is to seek your help in bringing to the notice of the respective authorities the number of civic problems the residents here face .I have listed them in the Numerical order. Please publish this to help us resolve the issues at the earliest .

There is no water supply in this area , particularly our road for the last 2 years ,
reason : all the borewells have parched . Now the only source of water is to buy it from private water suppliers who supply water by tankers at a cost of about 250 -350 per tanker of 3000 liters ,depending upon the demand.

2. There is no Underground drainage system, still use the conventional septic tank method.

3. No proper roads, all roads have huge potholes, they are never asphalted.

Now the Major issues.

The BBMP is now building culverts on all the road intersections .The culvert is about 18" higher than the original road level .

Due the Culvert height the water tankers refuse to supply water as they cannot either turn into the road as they did earlier ,nor can they reverse the tractor due to the height & the width of the culvert which is exactly as wide as the actual road & does not cover the drains on both sides of the road.

Another big problem the residents now are facing is that many septic tanks have become full due the heavy rains .The conventional method of cleaning is not possible now due to the lack of skilled workers .The alternate way was to use the Kam Vac machines which would suck the silt . Now that the BBMP is building culverts even those lorries refuse to come as they cannot turn into our roads .
Kindly help us get a solution to these problems as living in this locality is now a nightmare .We have learnt to live over the years with less water .But the thought of returning home to find a clogged toilet & not being able to answer natures call is very scary .

Being a viewer of the News 9 channel I thought, its best to bring this to your kind notice & hope this will send the message to the concerned authorities & action would be taken immediately.

I was expecting a coverage on war footing on this issue, like you do on BBMP issues. Dont you think this is a more important and larger issue? Looking forward to seeing your coverage. Feeling disgusted to see a food show on your channel right now.

Can you please check the irregularities on Bangalore traffic police. Church Street (Next to Brigade Road), has multiple places where you can find Parking board (with clear marking of 2 wheeler and 4 wheelers). And you will be surprised that traffic police tow away vehicles just under the parking board!
No receipts, No record. Go to Cubbon Road Traffic Police Station, pay and get your vehicle back!
I probably think that you can catch them red handed as well in this area! I had a very 'non sense' experience today.
Can you please get the message to traffic police, either don't put Parking board where its No Parking and vice versa?
And can anybody bother to ask them to have proper record, so that whatever person pays goes to government (if at all) and not to some corrupt guys bank account (later to be unearthened by Lok Ayukta, which cant do much).

Till now, I never even jumped a signal. Not even misled in my tax payment by even a rupee. Now I will do. I pay tax for the protection/Law order/ Road etc, I don't get anything.

Readers Grievances/remove chicken stall near temple

Respected Sir,
I would like to bring to your notice regarding the menace caused by chicken/mutton stall near SRI KALIAMMAN TEMPLE,Ulsoor Market
Mr SHUKOOR ,# 69 ,Ulsoor Market has opened a chicken stall very near to the temple premises. In future he may sell beef also. This will cause a lot of menace to the devotees of the ancient temple since its residual waste is eaten by birds and dogs. The birds sometimes drop the non vegetarian pieces on the temple premises and also on the devotees, which is disturbing the sanctity of the temple. It also hinders the divinity of the temple.According to the corporation rules for a shop of this kind is not allowed near the place of sanctity,,Mr Shukoor has openly violated the rules by opening this stall at this place. Also he has violated the corporation rules and is also stinking very badly and polluting the entire area. There is also STRAY DOG MENACE due to chicken stall.
We request you humbly to restore the sanctity of the Temple from illegal chicken/mutton stall near the Temple. So we request you to close the chicken/mutton stall at the earliest.
We had called BBMP and also MOH,but so far no action has been taken.
A request letter was also sent to higher authorities,so far no action has been taken.
We request the Fourth estate to bring it the notice of the people and we request the concerned authorities to take action immediately.
THANKING YOU
YOUR'S FAITHFULLY ( on behalf of Devotees,Subhash Shekar)

Hi News9,

Few of my friends from North India who work with me now, have seen people killing dogs and hanging them like sheeps and goats in Banshankari.

They are new to Bangalore and hence donot know the route properly.

They went to that road accidentally.

It happens in nit and my friends witnessed it yesterday.

Landmark : On the way to uttaralli from banshankari and near HDFC atm.

Unfortunately I donot have any other information, please look into this matter seriously and we can catch hold of the culprits.

My friends also found dogs head chopped off and thrown on road side.

I can count on you guys to make bangalore a better place to live.

Hello News 9,

I salute you for your excellent work done to change the society in all possible ways.

I have a complaint to you....In Infantry road, Bangalore (Next to safina plaza)..there is a spine clinic called as non-invasive spine care and the name of the Doctor is Vinay Sarvotham. He is a fraud, he says that he has learnt some treatment from Singapore and charges Rs.10000 (ten thousand per week) for spine treatment..he does nothing during the treatment, its just a 2-3 minutes massage he does which is of no use to the spine at all...he is looting people...I request you to please take your hidden camera and go to him...he will first send you for a MRI scan..then, any MRI report he sees, he will say that the spine is very bad condition and he can get it alright without a surgery and charges 10000 per week, each person need atleast 3-4 of treatment...but no result at all...Please expose this so that poor people will not fall in his trap...he also has photos of VVIPs like Dr. Rajkumar, SM Krishna and others to attract people...
Thanks a lot...

Hello Friends, we are called SHIVAKUMR SHEKAR & MALGORZATA DUSKO SHEKAR, we married at poland on 02/10/2011, when we came to India we registered our marriage in India too, it was a hot news for media, many media people approached us for short film shooting for their news & special report, accordingly we said ok.
tv9 & news9 people shooted our film at HAMPI by way of assurance that, promise of providing our programme cassette, later nobody bouthered about their words, for this programme shooting we spent a lot of money 1. we travelled to Hampi from Bangalore 2. stayed in Hampi 3. food in Hampi 4. return ticket to Bangalore, because, we live in Bangalore etc.,
Many channels telecasted in Kannada language, but, news9 telecasted in English, my wife does not know Kannada, she wants to show this programme to her friends and relatives at Poland for understanding the significance of this programme, about this matter one your correspondent assured 100% at Hampi, another Bangalore correspondent aassured 200% about providing of our own programme cassette, if this is not poossible atlease you people can send us youtube link of our programme.
Our programme was telecasted on ( tv9 & news 9 ) 28/01/2012 programme was called "V" DESHI MADUVE & SPECIAL REPORT "A LOVE STORY ACROSS 7 SEAS.
Finally you people can satisfy us by way of giving news9 English version special report youtube link.
With high hope & expectation I am stopping here.

Why the hell news 9 wants sachin and laxman to retire just because rahull dravid from karnataka has retired this friday.
Reasons why you people talk rubbish.
1) You say dravid did a respectful job coz he wants to give chance to the youngsters. You say it's a good decision and the other two seniors should follow suit.
2)You never raised this kind of a topic before dravids retirement, which clearly means you are dejected coz someone from south india is and will be no more playing for the country.
3)Me and my country man love Dravid more than people here in south, we to are dissapointed about this, bt that doesn't mean we go on for asking for others retirement. The seniors should leave in a phase and not in one lap.
3)The third factor why ur channel sounds bullshit is because of a very intersting fact that you and your channel itself has potrayed in the live telecast.
You guys say , dravid did the right thing, but at the end of ur episode you say, that he should have played atleast this year.
where the fuck does the logic stand, are you becoming bias coz you are too mush worried about your state and it's stars like dravid.
Guys plese grow up and start with fair jouranlism, don't try to bring in these regional factors, atleast when it involves your countries interst.
We love Draivd, bt more tahn dat we love our country, and i believe things should move in a phase. we therefore want sachin to play untill he wants and hand over the barrel to someone who can carry it with the same love, responsibility and dignity.

I request you to please take up the issue of banning fire crackers in namma city as a part of the hasiru city campaign (well as the entire state later)
there has to be a discussion on this subject ,to create awareness, deepavali is a festival of lights ,not sound/noise n certainly not for air pollution and people especially children losing their eyes, suffering burn injuries sometimes even death..
last year just a month before deepavali, i watched a program/discussion on tv9, in which a senior legal expert was speaking abt the PIL in high court regarding banning of fire crackers..,but nothing substancial happened, when the festival is too near nothing much can be done.

fire cracker industries make children work in their factories, which is against the child labor act 1986,since its an hazardous industry as it involves chemicals, they are made to work without any protective gear, its dangerous n threatening, as the unaided fingers they use to fill in chemicals into crackers are used to consume food as well, that accumulates in the food chain, leading to biomagnification..and their products leaves scores of people blind every year, child whose hand is burnt may not be able to write for the rest of his life, and if he works in a hazardous industry ,how the hell will he go to school, his right to education from 6-14 yrs, which is is fundamental right under article 21a ,stands meaningless, the produsts of this industry is used in our festivals, what kind of a festival is that.

one person's right to enjoy his festival should not override another person's right to life, burn injuries and blindness surely compromise the quality of life .

fire crackers also lead to air pollution to a large extent, right to clean environment has been interpreted as the right to life by the supreme court of india and green tribunal,

some people might argue saying that its part of our culture n tradition, ask someone whose kid has lost his/her eyes while burning fire crackers, how good he/she feels about the this tradition, will that family ever have the same enthusiasm in celebrating the festival..ofcourse they would never ever think of bringing crackers home.

deepavali is a festival of lights ,not noise, air pollution n a ritual which takes way some eyes..

i request the news9 family to step up the media activism on this issue n urge the govt to ban fire crackers in our city n the entire state..

just an rti application to minto eye hospital ,govt hospitals in our city n rest of the state asking for information on the fire cracker related injuries during deepavali festival n the age profiling of the patients will speak volumes, i am sure even the pvt hospitals like shekhar nethralaya n the apollo, agrawal eye hospital etc will be forthcoming in helping you,
i am a doctor by profession n know the value of an eye, especially the irrecersible injuries like retinal damage leaving people blind for life.

i would like to remind you that courts in the past have banned certain rituals related to festivals as it threatens law n order or the safety of citizens or seriously imperils the health of citizens..for eg the jalikattu in tamilnadu has been banned by the higher courts..
similarly fire crackers can be banned, the fire accident in sivakasi is a reminder, there may be may more wickets to fall,if we dont act now..

a meaningful discussion with ophthalmologists, legal experts, bureaucrats from the dept of health, civil society activists , would be very helpful in taking first step in routing out this stone age practice ..

with regards ,
thank you.
September 6, 2012 at 1:44 AM
i thoroughly second rann vijay, media is called the fourth estate, that is when all the 3 pillars of our system namely the legislature, executive and judiciary are unable to deliver, then the media has to pick up the cudgels to fight for people's rights.

its rightly observed that right to life ,which is a fundamental right enshrined in our constitution under article 21, is being violated in numerous ways with this practice of burning firecrackers as a part of deepavali festival, the right to education of the child working in the hazardous industry is eroded n the child who loses his eyes is an active loser..while the people who suffer cos air, noise pollution n mild hearing loss are passive losers..

news9 has done brilliant work in the namma city, thru is hasiru city campaign, we need more such of these issues to be highlighted, discussed in a public fora.

i would like to congratulate Mr.Ravi, Mr.Nikhil joshi for such good programmes they ve given us.please have a discussion on this issue at the earliest.

thanking you,
with regards

Dear Sir,
Specially during the rains We see pot holes on the road, We blame BBMP and Other authorities.
Have you ever considered studying the reason behind this?
This is what I had witnessed. This happened a few years ago when I was coming back from my work late that night I was passing by the newly laid Tar road in Whitefield towards ITPL. I saw a few workers with crow bars digging on the main road on the other side which was newly laid it occurred to me that they were probably doing some work. the next morning as I passed this way I saw patches of broken road. I remembered the incident of the previous night. I stopped the vechicle and tried to examine to find one good reason behind the visible patches. I am a person working as a Engineer for Interior fit outs.
This came as a flash when I realized that this pot holes were created by the Contractors to get works from the authorities.
Have you not wondered how these potholes arise at a given distance?
Are we questioning anyone who is cutting a road in front of your house? May be you would if he comes into your compound.
We see workers sweeping the street roads, have you paid attention to where they go?
They go into the rain water drains. (No supervision)
Regards.
